On a dark and snowy night, Cowboy first showed up in the small, mountaintop restaurant. He was a young man, who had straight hair going past his shoulders, and a long beard. He was mysterious and appeared to be a drifter. After stating that he was in search of a mountain lion that was killing his cattle, Amy Clayson’s curiosity about him became piqued. Her parents owned the restaurant and Amy was a comical, spunky twenty-something year old.
Amy was certain that she’d never seen him before, and that was a rarity in the tiny village. Yet, he not only knew her name, and the restaurant staff’s names, but he also knew the menu by heart. Cowboy appeared rude and cold hearted that night. However, there was something buried deep within his blue eyes that kept Amy asking for more.
Amy’s close knit family wanted her to stay away from Cowboy. Her lifelong friend, the deputy sheriff, begged her to leave the young man alone. All of her life she had followed the rules and minded her business. She prayed about the matter and felt that God had instructed her to help Cowboy. Now, something in her heart had changed. She was on a path that would either save the strange man or lead to her complete destruction.

I just read this for the second time. 1st time was through Amazon Prime and the 2nd time I purchased it. This is absolutely one of the best and funnest books I have read in a long time. The first time I read it I rushed through it as I normally do, getting to the mystery of Cowboy. This time though, I was thoughtful, paying particular attention to Amy and her first person thoughts throughout the book.On this reading I realized what fun both Amy and Cowboy were. Cowboy was hiding a lot of somethings, Amy was determined to find out what he was determined to keep secret. Cowboy, even though the book is centered around him, almost plays a secondary role. The book is really about Amy and her determination in getting to the bottom of.....well just everything... Even though she is 20ish she finds her footing and becomes her own woman and accepting things without losing her innocent outlook on love, and life. I guarantee you, you will never stop smiling even as grim as it gets when the plot thickens.
The lining notes are sketchy and barely gives you an indication of the ride your are in for.
It should be mentioned that Amy is telling this tale as a bedtime story for her daughter. That really helps center it to the present.

I've read all if Glenn's books. This was my favorite by far. It truly drew me in and I wanted to be part of Amy's (the main character ) family. Loved it!!!!
Good story. Everyone loves a love story where there is confusion and pain, mystery and misunderstanding, but love then finds a way... Loved the story location and family dialogue and relationships!
I just loved this book.. Cowboy Smith was a odd mysterious and a quite person who never talked and didn't wanted to be bother. A lot of question needed to be answered.. So, Amy .. A stubborn young lady was about to go on a investigation hunt to reveal , what's behind this mysterious Cowboy.. Wow! This was a great read... Thank you Mr Glenn Soucy.. For writing this awesome book..
I loved this story! I was instantly drawn into the simple life of Amy Clayson, and was kept there by the intriguing mystery of Cowboy Smith. Each chapter pulled me deeper into the mystery, making me hang on Amy's every action in order to get to the bottom of things. The sub-plots of real family life, added with Amy's unwavering faith that God was guiding her along her journey, were melted into and played out well with the main plot. The engaging characters, vivid setting, and captivating plot made this a thoroughly enjoyable read. Well done, Glenn!
I love reading this book so much! Glenn Soucy is a great Author, love his writing. The characters are so amazing with a mystery plot and a romance. This story has it all. Awesome book. I recommend this book to everyone.
Every once in a while you run across a book that has a strong impact on your emotions. This book did that for me. When I first peeked inside this book on , I fell in love with what I read; so I just had to purchase it. I was not disappointed. What a page turner this turned out to be! Amy Clayson is a persistent young woman who listens to her heart, her gut, and God. As she pursues the one man she loves, she believes that she is following God's will. She doesn't give up; and that is just a small part that makes this a wonderful love story. I cried more than a couple of times as I read the story. Brilliant! I loved it.
Will Amy be lead to total devastation? Or will she rescue an outlandish young man known as Cowboy? She’d kept to herself and lived a decent life, but she couldn’t continue this way, for things were no longer the same. The sheriff, and her family insisted she stay away from the young man, but Amy felt an attraction to him. Good looking, rugged Cowboy entered the quaint, summit restaurant on a shadowy, snow-white evening. He had a mysterious presence. The two had an attraction since he first set foot in the restaurant. How did he know her name and the menu by heart? Deep in his striking blue eyes was a mystery. This is fast paced story with a penetrating plot. The characters are relatable and strong. Glenn J Soucy has a way of writing that will have your eyes glued to the pages. His style flows effortlessly, and his descriptive use of words will take you into the heart of the story. Filled with passion, faith and the will to persevere, ‘Cowboy Smith’ is a wonderfully refreshing love story you don’t want to pass up.
